Appalachian Quilt Trail
I don't think it's any secret that I love all things quilt related and I especially love to see quilt blocks on barns! A friend of mine who has a farm near Knoxville, Tennessee recently became a part of the Appalachian Quilt Trail and she sent me this photo of their newly decorated barn. The block pattern is called "Mountain Variations" and is 8' wide by 8' high! It's a beautiful addition to the barn, isn't it?

Yes it is! The quilt blocks on barns have such appeal.
Love it! I've only seen quilts on barns in Ohio. Hopefully more will start showing up :-)
Very nice. I think every barn should have one.
The block is a great addition to the barn. It adds more character to it. Thanks for sharing.
Our Arts Council has one of the quilts on the outside of their building. I think it is an awesome idea!
We definitely need to start that up here in Tioga County.
So beautiful! I would do that if I still had a barn! Ours burned down when I was sixteen.
I love these...there are some in Iowa too.
wonderful pic....would love to travel that area
