Mass Production

I don't normally make more than one or two items from a pattern, but when my four oldest granddaughters saw the cell phone wallet that I made a few weeks ago they all begged for one of their own!  They really are just the right size for girls, so how could I say no?  They are easy enough to make, but I don't think I'll be making any more any time soon!  I'm ready to work on something different for a change!

On Point!

It never occurred to me that the center might be set on point!  I absolutely LOVE how this mystery quilt turned out!  It's going to make a great picnic quilt!

Winner!

My friend, Terry, from Terry's Treasures had a giveaway last week in an effort to find new homes for some of her creations and I was the lucky winner of this sweet puppy print table topper.  Terry even wrapped it in a pretty teal fat quarter!  I do believe that she is serious about cleaning out and making room for new fabric and quilts, because she's even offering some of her larger quilts up for sale at ridiculously low prices.  Visit her blog at terrytreasures.blogspot.com to see what she has in the bargain bin.

More Blocks!

I now have 40 more blocks for my summer camp quilt!  I'm really wondering how these are all going to go together.  There are 10 of the bigger blocks leftover from the center, which is 40" x 40"and the finished quilt is only to be 60" x 60"...it just doesn't seem like there will be room for them all.  I wonder if some will be worked into the pieced back?

More Cutting

The next step for the summer camp mystery quilt is to cut more block sets.  Smaller pieces this time around and there are 40 sets instead of 28!  I see lots of sewing coming up in the next step!

So Far, So Good!

Here's the center of my summer camp quilt all together!  I was a little nervous about putting on the outside border because the directions called for a partial seam, but it was easier to do than I expected!  So far, so good!

Blocks!

The second step of of Gyleen X. Fitzgerald's summer camp mystery quilt was to sew some blocks together...28 in all!  On to the next step...

Summer Camp!

I'm off to summer camp for the month of June!  Ok, I'm not really going away to summer camp, but I did sign up for Gyleen X. Fitzgerald's online summer camp.  I enjoyed her workshop so much  when she visited the Mountain Laurel Quilt Guild last June that I just couldn't resist the opportunity to join this online workshop.  It's a mystery quilt made entirely with fabrics from your stash, so I think choosing the fabrics will probably be the hardest part of this quilt!  I'm not sure all of these fabrics in the photo will make the final cut, but it's a good start!

Hats For Babies

My daughter-in-law mentioned that her church is collecting baby hats for a mission trip and it just so happens that I have a few on hand!  These little hats will be on their way to the Dominican Republic later this month!
