Summer Camp '15

The weather this December has been almost summer like with temperatures near 60, so my Summer Camp '15 quilt finish doesn't seem as overdue as it really is and as it turns out, I finished just in time...Gyleen Fitzgerald is starting a winter sew along that promises to be a real scrap buster!  Join in the fun on Facebook at www.facebook.com/groups.

Summer Camp

Online Summer Camp with Gyleen Fitzgerald wrapped up last week and my "When Lightning Strikes" quilt top is all finished!  Now to find the perfect backing and get it quilted!

When Lightning Strikes

When triangles are fitted together in columns, they form lightning bolts!  This is going to be one electrifying quilt!

Triangles

This year's summer camp quilt involves triangles.  Lots and lots of triangles cut from happy fabrics.  Did I mention lots and lots of triangles?

No Slip Tip

I have been cutting lots and lots of triangles for the online summer camp that Gyleen Fitzgerald is doing.  I was having trouble with my new ruler slipping and thought I was going to have to make a trip to the LQS for some non-skid dots. Then I got the idea to try a piece of painters tape on the back side of the ruler.  It worked perfectly!  It gives the ruler just enough grip to keep it from slipping and it's paper thin, so it doesn't raise the ruler off the fabric like the dots do.  As an extra bonus, it made it easier to see which end of the ruler I was using too.

Gearing Up For Summer Camp!

I participated in Gyleen Fitzgerald's online summer camp last year and absolutely loved it every step of the way, so it didn't take me long to decide to sign up for this year's summer camp!  Once again we'll be using stash fabric, so the only thing you need to buy is a Polygon2 tool, if you don't already have one.  Camp is going to be run a little differently this year though, rather than communicating through emails, Gyleen has set up a special Facebook group, so you will need a Facebook account to participate.  Go to www.colourfulstitches.com for more details, if you are interested in joining in the fun!  Sign up between now and June 1.
