Fun With Flannel

One of our favorite things to do during the summer is to take the top off our Jeep and tour the back roads through the state forest near our home. All too often it gets dark and turns chilly before we get home and I can't tell you how many times I have wished that I had a quilt along to wrap up in. Problem solved! I mentioned yesterday that I have been cleaning out the closet in my sewing room and I have been finding all kinds of treasures that I had forgotten about. One of those treasures was a stack of flannels that I won from Rene' Creates last December. I added a few flannels of my own to the mix, then used a quick disappearing nine-patch pattern, quilted it with a fast meander, added a scrappy binding and I now have a warm snugly Jeep quilt!

You're going to need your pick-up truck to bring all the quilts you have finished this month to the guild meeting! You've been enviably productive.

I love the disappearing 9 patch look! You made that quilt so fast and you can just tell looking at it how comfy and warm it is! Great Job!

Sounds like you are going to need a warm quilt for a few days. It also cooled down here today also. The flannel is really pretty and I bet it won't fade as quickly in the Jeep as a cotton one would. Enjoy

That does look cosy and so quick to make. I've never sewn with flannel, it would end up being another collection.

What a great idea! I need to put one in my car. Though I generally get chilly from the air conditioning!

Susan, this is a comfy looking quilt. Should come in handy on those topdown Jeep riding days. I am glad you mentioned they were from the flannels I sent. I would not have recognized them. I love the pinks you have in the quilt as well as the scrappy binding.
