The Brightest Flower In God's Garden

It's not often that I post about something that isn't quilt or craft related on my blog, but I could not let the passing of my husband's aunt go by without mention. Hazel never had children of her own and when her brother was trying to raise two young boys by himself the voids were filled for both. Yes, we called her Aunt Hazel, but she was the same as a mother and grandmother to our family and we are all going to miss this dear sweet woman more than words can express.

Mother-love, God's gift to His children,
With heavenly fragrance fraught;
The brightest flower in God's garden,
His truest forget-me-not.

May Aunt Hazel rest in peace and may the family be comforted by the many happy memories they have of her.

You will treasure all those sweet memories. We have an similar situation with an aunt who took me under wing when my own mother passed away. She will turn 95 this year!

The loss of those dear to us seems to cause us to reflect on the moments that were shared with that loved one. May your memories of Aunt Hazel bring you comfort at your time of loss.

What a nice idea, and I hadn't seen the one with the pillowcase, she indeed was a wonderful "lady" and will be missed by many of us. We are still praying for you and Tim.
