
Whippersnappers
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups shortening
1/2 cup peanut butter
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 3/4 cups quick cooking oats
1 package chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, cream both sugars, shortening and peanut butter. Add eggs and vanilla and mix well. Add flour, baking soda and salt to sugar mixture. Stir in oats, chocolate chips and pecans. On baking sheet, drop dough by teaspoonfuls and bake 12 to 14 minutes or until cookies begin to brown on edges.

Ooo delish Susan. I do like oat based cookies texture. Son is mad on flapjacks. Do you make those too?
