To Sew Or Unsew?
This UFO is so old that I can't even remember when I started working on it! Quite awhile ago, I pulled it out thinking that I would turn it into a throw and a couple of pillow shams, so I added the finishing border rows and then promptly put it back in the UFO pile. Now I am DETERMINED to get my unfinished projects finished, one way or another, and this one is next on the list. However, I think I need to reconsider my throw and sham set idea and go back to the original plan of simply making a larger quilt and add the blocks that I saved out for the shams back to the quilt. That means I have to unsew the finishing borders if I want to continue the matchstick pattern or I could take the easy way out and leave the extra row of squares at the one end of the quilt. What would you do?

Love this quilt. I think you should finish it as originally planned.
Add the extras to the back!
I love this quilt! I'd be tempted to just add them to the end. I kind of like how they look laid out like that.
No unsewing, or this project might never be completed! I would finish as is and either make pillows or a tabletopper with the extra.
Whatever makes you happy :) - that's what I think!
Leave it on the end - it's unexpected and therefore if works.
I love this layout. Weren't you using 2-1/2" strips for this? What were the measurements again please?
I really like the scrapiness of this and I think it would make a great large quilt, but the throw and pillows would also be nice.
I would leave the extra row on one end. You are just trying to get it done right? It is beautiful and it needs to be finished and appreciated! From a woman who has about 30 UFOs in the closet-they need to be done!
I would finish the quilt and put the extra on the back. Get-er-done!
If it doesn't sing for me, I'd just finish it up as is and give the leftover bits away to somebody who could use them.
if getting it finished would make you happiest--I would put the extra's in the backing. It is a really interesting quilt pattern, definitely worth the finish.
