I Did It Again...

A little over a year ago I lost a needle while I was stitching a binding and unfortunately my granddaughter found it a few weeks later with her bare foot! (Read the full story HERE) I try to keep close track of my pins and needles, but every once in awhile one gets away from me and yesterday it happened again, only this time I didn't give up the search until the needle was found. I pretty much had to dismantle the sofa, but I found the needle plus 36 cents and a Barbie shoe! I'm not sure it was great pay for an hour's worth of work, but at least it's safe to go barefoot in the living room again!

And Barbie will be happy again! Although she probably liked having an excuse to buy new shoes!

I'm missing a needle somewhere too. The thing is, I can't remember losing it! Ugh!

Funny post! Good for you on finding the needle at last. I hate when that happens to me and I do the same thing...search until it's found.

My hubby has "found" a needle or two! Usually because I left it sticking in the arm of his recliner!

No fun getting a needle in the foot....

Sometimes it is like finding a needle in a haystack when you are searching for one ....

Good for you! It's so easy to give up the search, and you are always so sorry when it causes hurt to someone.

Oh my word I love the doll shoe....those crack me up. I have lost things sitting right in front of me to never find them again. I thought my house had been invaded by ghosts....finding the needle indicates you are probably ghost free!! LOL

Kelly

I bet you have a clean sofa in the midst of the search.

Big Magnet! I hate losing needles. Awesome job finding it :)

Thank goodness you found it after all the hard work looking for it. I have one of those long magnet rods that help because I have to find a lost needle. I find good money in the washing machine, now that's better pay.

Not worth the pay that's for sure!Worth it for piece of mind though.

I know what you mean. So far I am the one who usually finds the missing needle...in my bare feet!

That's one reason we don't have carpet anywhere in our house! Of course, I have lost many needles and pins in the couch and even on the hardwood floors. My husband fusses at me.

I sure hope you still have Barbie! Hee!!
I too will drop a needle and have to hunt that sucker down for fear of feet finding it first. Our sofa has no money...I've looked! Hee!!

My favorite quilting tool is a magnetic wand that came from the auto supply store. It telescopes to a foot or more. I orignally had one from a quilt store, but managed to break it. And like most things, it was found much cheaper somewhere other than a quilt store. I'm always losing needles down the inside of my recliner where I sit and do handwork in the evenings. Or on the floor which is carpeted. A sweep with the wand always finds the pin or needle very quickly.

The first one I had was exactly like this
http://www.amazon.com/Allstar-ALL14173-2-Telescoping-Magnet/dp/B003BZWQR6

And I guarantee I paid 3 times this at the quilt store. Now I know where to get them more reasonablly priced.
