Looks good! I have done a few birds in the air blocks without paper piecing, and they are tricky to get just right. I think next time I would probably do what you did and paper piece.

I like this block too...well I like all of your blocks...your fabric choices are great! WE must think along the same lines with our fabrics, because I see my taste in fabrics in your blocks! Your block is very well done!
