Thanks To The Unseasonable Heat

Last week I spent a few days in Philadelphia with my son, daughter-in-law and grandson.  I went prepared for spring weather, but I wasn't at all prepared for temperatures in the upper 80's!  The jeans and long sleeve t-shirts that I had packed weren't going to be comfortable, so I suggested we make a quick trip to the Goodwill store down the street to find some summer clothes that I could make do with until I returned home.  While wandering through the store, I spotted a sewing machine case sitting on a shelf.  Imagine my surprise when I opened the lid to find this absolutely beautiful Singer 301 with all the attachments and even the original owners manual!  The price?  $5.00!  I went straight to the checkout and forgot all about looking for capris and t-shirts or how hot it was outside!

You found a deal. I love it when that happens. I have heard so many great things about how they sew.

$5? Heck yes, I'd be heading straight to checkout, not passing go. What a STEAL. Seriously, a STEAL!

What a wonderful buy! I'd have headed straight for the register too. Does the machine sew well?

Oh, my! Congratulations on your wonderful new [old] sewing machine--and on getting it for such a wonderful price. Congratulations for and best wishes for years of sewing on this really wonderful machine! (I'd have forgotten the clothes too!)

What a GREAT DEAL you got!
I got a tan one at an auction 2 years ago for $2.00! It was in August and the A/C wasn't working in the auction house and not too many people stayed for the auction, so no one bid against me!

I have a 301 singer in a cabinet, did you get all the discs with it to do the decorative stitches?
