Labor Of Love
On November 4th I lost one of my oldest and dearest friends, Tami Boehmer, to metastatic breast cancer. She left behind a loving husband and 16 year-old daughter. Being 500 miles away and feeling terribly helpless, I offered to make them a quilt from her t-shirts. The box of shirts arrived in the mail the other day and so my labor of love begins...

I am so sorry for your loss. How sweet of you though to offer to do this for the family. I know they will treasure it for a long time.
Good for you -- it may be a bit teary making this quilt, but the family will love it in the end. My sympathies on the loss of your friend.
I'm so sorry for your loss, Susan, especially when you are so far apart...hugs
What a beautiful sentiment, one that will be a treasured heirloom for generations as a tribute to a wonderful friend...
Hugs and prayers for all
The process really helps to work your way through such a terrible loss. I am so sorry for you and for her family. Prayers!
I am so sorry for your loss...what a wonderful thing to do for them.
May the handling of her shirts and the making of this quilt help you heal . . . sending hugs for the journey.
I know your friends husband and daughter will love the quilt....but oh my word....you are really in for the tears. Sending you lots of virtual Kleenex!
Hugs,
Kelly
