Aged To Perfection!

This quilt has been a long time in the making!  The nine patches were from a guild swap from way back.  Then over two years ago Terry (Terry's Treasures) started a Scrappy Stars Sew Along, so I decided to use the nine patches for the star centers.  I finished the top in a reasonable amount of time, but as usual, I had to let it age in the "to quilt" pile before I could finish it.  This past week I decided it has waited long enough to be quilted, so here it is, all finished and aged to perfection!    

Not Quite A Flimsy

Here are my scrappy star blocks from the Scrappy Star Sew Along all together with sashing and scrappy cornerstones.  The top still needs another border, so it isn't quite a flimsy yet, but it's getting closer!

Enough For A Top!

January is the last month of the Scrappy Star Sew Along at  Terry's Treasures and now I have enough blocks made for a quilt top!  I've been looking through my stash for something to use as sashing, but can you believe that I don't have anything that will work?  I guess I will have to do a little fabric shopping before I can finish this one.

Adding Up!

I just finished two more star blocks for the Scrappy Star Sew Along at Terry's Treasures!  Now that the blocks for October are done, I have a total of six blocks!  They are starting to add up!

What Happened To September?

I looked at the calendar this morning and thought to myself that September is almost over and then it occurred to me that I didn't have my September blocks made for the Scrappy Star Sew Along yet!  I dropped everything and ran for the sewing machine!  Whew...I now have two scrappy stars finished for September!  Maybe I should leave the mess and get October's blocks made up a couple of days early!

Scrappy Stars Sew Along

When Terry announced that she was going to host a sew along I thought it would be fun to join in.  Then when I saw the pattern had a 6 1/2" nine patch in the center, I knew I had to join in!  I had a stack of aging nine patch blocks in the closet just waiting for the right project to come along and the Scrappy Stars Sew Along was perfect!  Even if you don't have a stack of nine patches to start off with, you can still join in!  The blocks are easy to make and we're only making two a month.  Easy peasy!  Visit Terry's Treasures to find out all the details or to join in.
