Quilted, Bound, And FINISHED!

Here's my Shoo-fly quilt from Pat Sloan's Scrap Happy Sew Along all quilted, bound, and FINISHED!  I really am trying to change my ways and finish one project before starting another, so it's a real accomplishment for me not to have added this one to the quilt top mountain.  Pat's challenge for April is to finish a UFO, so an easy challenge for me...I just happen to have a UFO that needs to be quilted and bound.

All Together!

It's April 4th and I have my March Scrap Happy Sew Along quilt top all together!  Not a March finish like I had planned, but still not bad all things considered.  Now to get it right on the quilt frame, rather than adding it to the "to quilt someday" pile!

10 Minutes A Day

I've accepted Pat Sloan's challenge and have been making time to sew for at least 10 minutes a day on my Shoo-fly blocks.  One of Pat's suggestions for finding extra sewing time was to sew while dinner was cooking.  The first day I got 5 blocks made, because 10 minutes turned into half an hour, and then I had to spend 45 minutes scrubbing burned pork BBQ off of the bottom of one of my good stainless steel pots, while waiting for the pizza delivery guy.  Lessons learned...set the timer or just skip cooking and order out, but sewing at least 10 minutes a day does make a difference in the "to make" list! 

Scrap Happy Sew Along

I needed another project like I need a hole in the head, but something about Pat Sloan's Scrap Happy Sew Along called to me.  Maybe it was the way she promised that it would be an easy and fun quilt that would use up scraps.  A quilt that could be sewn together in just 10 minutes a day for a month.  Lord knows that I have plenty of scraps and I do like quick, easy and fun, so why not?  The photo shows my shoo-fly blocks using polka-dot scraps all cut out and ready to sew.
