Beam N Read Blog Hop

Welcome to day four of IHAN's Beam N Read Blog Hop!
I want to thank Kelly from I Have A Notion and the great folks at ASF Lightware Solutions for inviting me to participate in this blog hop.  Quite honestly, I probably wouldn't have given this light a second glance if it hadn't been sent to me for a review.  I have a nice bright light next to my chair where I do most of my handwork, so why would I need to strap a light around my neck?  It didn't take me long to figure out that this little light is invaluable for anyone who does any kind of handwork!  The extra bright light directed towards your stitching (without obstructing your view) makes all the difference in the world while stitching, especially when there isn't any natural light available.  The Beam N Read is lightweight and has a comfortable, easy to adjust neck strap.   It only took a few minutes of use and I was hopelessly hooked on my Beam N Read!

One of the handy attachments that comes with the Beam N Read LED6 is a detachable magnifier for times when your bifocals or reading glasses just aren't enough...like when threading a needle.  Don't you just hate it when you can't get the thread to go through that tiny needle eye?!  Sometimes it isn't lack of vision that makes it difficult to thread that needle.  Did you know that a needle has a right and wrong side?  You can't see it by looking, but if you're having a hard time threading the needle try turning it around and threading it through the other side.  Works for me every time!

    This product looks great! I'd love to finally finish up a lap quilt I've been working on for ages...the hand quilting always seems to get pushed aside for other things! I'm sure the Beam and Read Light would be a super help for those evenings when your eyes get a little tired! Thanks for the chance!

    I am doing a BOM that is embroidered!

    I have been working on a couple of embroidery projects so that is what I would use the light for. Also, I know it would come in handy for reading in bed (currently drives my husband batty).

    I just started cross stitching a Christmas stocking for my newest grandchild and the stitches are tiny. Needless to say, I could definitely use the Beam and Read light. Especially since we are traveling now and the lighting in our camper is the best. It looks like a great solution!

    I'm so glad you aren't stitching in the dark any longer...LOL. I feel the same way...and I use the magnifier quite a bit...even at my young age (imagine that!)

    I would love to use this when I hand stitch bindings. When I watch TV with my husband and son in the "man cave" there isn't sufficient light for me to stitch and I hate to have idle hands while in front of the TV. Sounds like this light is the answer! Thanks for the chance to win.

    My 58 year old eyes could definitely benefit from the Beam N Read light. I'm not fortunate enough to have good lighting in my sewing room, so not only would it be helpful while sewing at the machine, but also while I'm doing that tedious needlework. Embroidery and cross stitch is on the menu. These 58 year old eyes HATE doing that!

    If I won one of those great lights I would use it to finish hand piecing my Jinny Beyer "Columbia" quilt. I had to stop a few years ago because I needed more light to work in the evening, and the ones that I have just don't shine on the project itself where I need it. I have missed being able to sew in the evenings.

    Hi there, I just read about your giveaway so had to come over to enter. I hand quilt all my quilts and often do this at night-when it is more difficult. I'm going to be starting a quilt for my girlfriend of 45 yrs., for her birthday-I would love more light.

    I just love this light. It looks just awesome.

    I have a group of baby things I'll be making very soon for our 2nd grandchild who will arrive in early Sept we've been told. A few of the projects have hand stitching to close things up and with my bifocals not being quite as good as they should be I really do have some problems with that. I know this light would really help.

    I had the same thought as you! But as I read through everyones reviews I"ve come to decide I NEED this! #1 help is with my hand quilting I"m doing. I"m working on a full size quilt right now and I never can get the light to light up the right area without shadows. And the other problem is I get way too hot with that light shining down on me. Boy would this help that!

    The only hand sewing project I do is sewing on buttons, I'm still leery that my machine needle will hit the button. But I need the light to shine it on my sewing machine because the light on the machine just isn't bright enough!

    I would use a Beam N Read today for a quilt binding that I am in the middle of. By next week it could be the crochet blanket I started for the new grandbaby. Then there are the dozen old ( 1979-1985) quilt magazines I got at the second hand store that I am reading before bed.--the list is endless.

    Unreal! I had no idea that a needle had a "right" and a "wrong" side....I gotta try that next time! I would love to shine some light on my hand quilting - that would be a lot easier than trying to drag a lamp over closer to my chair! LOL

    It seems that at night when DH is watching TV, my light is in his way so, I would like to use this light while stitching bindings and applique while watching TV with him. I think it would be the cat's meow for reading in bed too. Thanks for the chance to win this.

    Now that my eyesight is getting "aged" I could sure use one of these lights! It's tough to admit, but I can see less and less at night and under low light conditions.
    I need to work on some appliqued hearts for a project my quilting guild is working on, and this would really help

    As unglamerous as it's sounds, I'd have to say this would help me get my husband's pants hemmed. Having a 3 yr old son, my sewing time is at night and the last thing I want to do is hand hem black pants with black thread. If I win, I'll need to come up with another excuse, because this light would be awesome for that job!!! :)
