New York, New York
This was a fun quilt to make...it was full of “design opportunities”! My original plan was to quilt a New York City skyline etch-a-sketch style, which worked well, but when I finished the quilt it was pretty bland and needed something more. I really didn’t want to remake the whole piece so I made another larger quilt and mounted the smaller quilt on it bulletin board style with four tiny black buttons. I loved how it turned out so much that I entered it in a local juried art quilt exhibit. It was accepted and hung at the Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center in October 2017. It now hangs in my granddaughter’s bedroom.

Very nice! Sophisticated minimalism.
