Originally I had planned to use the Buck A Blocks to make a Christmas quilt. It was a great idea when I planned this quilt back in 2007, but now in 2010 it doesn't sound as appealing. For one thing the 12 block quilt would be too large to quilt on my frame and what fun would it be to finish a top that I wouldn't be able to quilt myself? Plan B is to make two crib size quilts using 6 blocks each. I'll be able to finish the quilts myself and plus I can use some bright springy fabrics to help ease my spring fever. This decision has really breathed new life into this UFO project...I can hardly wait to get the blocks finished so I can put the tops together!

Love the multicolored calico!!! Great Idea. I have a buck a block from 2008, I think, that I haven't ever even touched. Thanks a bunch for reminding me that I need to put it on my UFO list! ;0) Rats...it isn't even a WIP!!LOL!

ReplyDeleteIsn't it wonderful that there's a "B". Sometimes I have to go through plans A-Z before I find the right one. I'm sure it will be lovely and look forward to seeing what you come up with.

ReplyDeleteI still have some Buck A Blocks needing quilted. Only mine is a huge quilt as I bought three kits each month and then added my own extra blocks..all made from HST's. BTW I learned that I HATE Thangles! I don't find them very accurate at all. I'd much rather cut my HST's oversized and trim. But that's just me.

ReplyDeleteI have 2 complete sets of Buck A Blocks from 3 or 4 years ago--still in their little plastic bags, untouched. I had big plans at the time but nothing happened. They're not UFOs, or WIPs, they're just "want to make" projects. I need to follow your lead, look at them again, maybe from a different direction, and get to work on them.
