Working On My PhD
I've decided that my goal for 2015 is going to be to finish my PhD (Project half Done). Actually when I began blogging back in 2008, it was because of this quilt. A group of friends and I decided that we were all going to make Dear Jane quilts and blog about the process. It didn't take me too long to realize that I had taken on more than what I could handle. I do not care for tiny pieces or applique and that is what makes up a Dear Jane quilt. I ended up making the easier pieced blocks and decided on a throw size quilt instead. My second mistake was deciding to hand quilt it rather than just getting it done on the machine. As much as I enjoy hand sewing bindings (my favorite part of making a quilt) I am not a hand quilter. Just the same, I am determined to finish the quilting and get this quilt done in 2015!

It's beautiful...and it will be wonderful to have it finished. :0)
ReplyDeleteyou can do it! I just finished my Dear Jane - I like the border you used and a lot of people make just some of the blocks like you did
ReplyDeleteI think the same reasons have kept me from attempting a Dear Jane. This will make a beautiful finish.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous quilt, Susan, I just love it! I can't wait to see it finished, what a treasure :)
