Normal
I know that normal is really just a setting on the dryer, but after the last few months, I'm ready for any kind of normal that I can get! Unfortunately, the tonsillectomy that I had in October did not take care of the problem that I have been having with my throat. The Reader's Digest condensed version is my persistent sore throat is being caused by a nerve and just before the holidays I was diagnosed with glossopharyngeal neuralgia. I have more testing ahead, but for now I'm looking into some holistic ways to manage the pain. The one thing that I have found that helps the most is staying so busy that I don't have time to think about it, so for now I am going to dial the knob to normal and see what happens!

ReplyDeleteThat is irritating to go through all you did and not have it resolve the problem. I hope you can find some relief. Keeping busy keeps our minds off all kinds of things..great therapy.

ReplyDeleteSending lots of hugs and wishes for any "normal" you can find!
As a slightly crazy lady who has two forms of neuralgia, I am going to tell you that one of my doctors suggested that I use ginger capsules 3 times a day. I don't know if it will help, but it helps both forms that I have. You can read about it online and see if it sounds like a plan.
ReplyDeleteGosh Susan that sounds like you have been in terrible pain. And to go through the tonsillectomy and have nothing resolved is so frustrating. Neuralgia pain is a horrible thing. I get it constantly down my legs from the spinal surgeries I have had. Not nice.
ReplyDeleteI so hope you find something to give you some relief soon.
So sorry to hear you've been in such pain. And went through a tonsillectomy needlessly. They're not a walk in the park either! I hope they've got a solution for you soon.
ReplyDeleteOh Susan, such a bummer...I'm sending thoughts that they can figure out some relief for you.
ReplyDeleteHugs kidddo
That's not good that you went through the tonsillectomy, I sure hope you do find your way to a good normal.
