The Question Is...

My 30's reproduction scraps are now a quilt top!  It is  small, just 31x36, but that's a nice size to use in a carseat or stroller, so the small size really isn't an issue.  My question is, without taking size into consideration, does it need a border or is it done?

  1. I think it needs a border, but if you want to call it finished it will look fine also. Cute project for scraps.

  2. I think it is finished ... it doesn't need a "frame" (aka border) because the binding will become the edge and on a little quilt, that's really all you need.

    What a great carseat quilt!

  4. It only needs a border if you want it bigger. It is cute just the way it is.

  6. I'm of the "not every quilt needs a border" camp. So if you think it's done, it's done. Remember the binding does serve as a small border! You could do Suzie's magic binding with a solid piece on the inside and scarppy on the outside.

  7. Great way to use up those scraps! I like it the way it is, but I rarely use borders on my quilts. I'm sure it will look fine either way. :0)

  8. I think it needs at least one border and maybe a one inch and a 3 inch. one inch a little surprise and the outside a calmer more subtle feel that fits with the center.

  9. I think it needs a border, doesn't have to be a big one...
