Quilting With Office Products
I do love my Gracie quilt frame, but I still like to use my domestic machine and a walking foot for straight-line quilting on smaller projects. I was recently quilting a narrow grid and was having a hard time stuffing and shifting the quit through the machine and keeping my stitching straight, so I rolled the quilt and pinned the excess into place with a couple of straight pins. Ouch! Not a good idea. Then I remembered the big binder clips that I had in my desk...they held the quilt in place perfectly and worked like a charm!

good one! I was using yellow sticky notes the other day to indicate where my quilting lines should go.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. Those straight pins can be deadly!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. I wouldn't not be able to use straight pins as I would be bloody! I've heard of people using binding clips when handsewing the binding down as well.
