How Do You Say No?
I absolutely hate quilting quilts that do not belong to me! It's bad enough if I mess up the quilting on one of my own quilts, but the stress just from the possibility that I might ruin a quilt that isn't mine is too much for me to handle. So how did I end up with not one but two quilt tops that belong to a friend? I'm still not sure how it happened, but apparently I agreed to do some quilting. Thankfully the first quilt wasn't too stressful and it came off the frame looking pretty good. Hopefully the next one goes as well and once that one is finished I'm going to practice saying "no".

I'm so happy to hear you say that. I'm the same way. A fold in the backing, bad tension, etc. always happens in someone else's quilt!
ReplyDeleteI have practiced saying NO for years and now it is almost automatic. It is stressful enough quilting our own.
ReplyDeleteWhen I broke my wrist in December, I had two quilt tops ready for quilting for Christmas gifts for my little nieces. My sweet sister in love stepped in and quilted both of them for me. It was so wonderful to have them quilted and ready to send off before Christmas arrived. So sometimes it is a huge help to say YES :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to say no! Use a tried and true pattern so you aren't so nervous!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. The stress is overwhelming. You're halfway there now!
ReplyDeleteYou are right, our post are similar....how to say no...I need to write a book.
